Friends With Benefits


Blasts from the past.  A few of the folks from Second City Chicago who have influenced Judy’s comedy style.

Amy Sedaris, David Razowsky and me when I was 16 years old in 1992. David Razowsky- David is the host, creative force, and backbone of the A.D.D. Comedy Podcast. He is the former artistic director of The Second City Training Center, has worked with Dreamworks, Steppenwolf, The Reduced Shakespeare Company, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and Amy Sedaris. David is a master improvisation teacher, actor, director, and performs Razowsky & Clifford with his improv partner Carrie Clifford.

Amy Sedaris portrayed Jerri Blank in the Comedy Central series Strangers with Candy which she co-wrote with Dinello and Colbert.  The show ran for three seasons and would later inspire a full-length movie.  She appeared in a series of commercials for Downy Unstopables, a fabric softener product.

Me with Scott Adsit – 2014 at Second City. Scott is known for his role as Pete Hornberger, the well-meaning but frequently terrified executive producer, on the NBCsitcom 30 Rock.  He voiced the robot Baymax in the Disney animated film Big Hero 6.

Me with Nia Vardalos when she surprised me by coming to see me in a show in LA!  You may recognize Nia as the creator, writer and star in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

He is best known for his role on Comedy Central‘s Strangers with Candy as Joffrey Jellineck, the closeted gay art teacher at Flatpoint High.  Dinello has made guest appearances on Colbert’s show The Colbert Report as Tad, the building manager. Dinello was also a writer, actor, producer, and director for the Strangers with Candy film

Me and David Koechner – when I was 16 years old in 1992.  He is best known for playing roles such as Champ Kind in the Anchorman films and Todd Packer on NBC‘s The Office.

Me and Ian Gomez – when I was 16 years old in 1992. You may recognize Ian as Javier Clemente Quintata on the WB show Felicity. He plays Andy Torres in the ABC and later TBS comedy Cougar Town. He also played Mike (Ian’s best friend) in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Me with Steve Carell – when I was 16 years old in 1992 when he was a teacher of mine at Second City.  Some of Steve’s credits include: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, playing Michael Scott on the American version of The Office. He has also co-created and starred as the lead in The 40-Year-Old VirginLittle Miss SunshineEvan AlmightyDan in Real LifeGet SmartDate NightDinner for SchmucksHorton Hears a Who!Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2. Weatherman Brick Tamland in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Little miss Sunshine.  His dramatic role as John Eleuthère du Pont in the 2014 film Foxcatcher .
